Get a library card

  

  • Applicants must show 2 forms of proof of their name and current address in order to receive a card. Juveniles (ages 3-13) must have a parent or guardian sign the application card for them.
  • Cards are free for those residing in Coloma Township or who pay taxes on property within Coloma Township. Patrons outside of Coloma Township pay $52.00 per year per family.
  • Books, CDs, DVDs, and AudioBooks may be renewed 1 time.  Items with holds can not be renewed.  Items can be renewed by calling the library at 815-626-3958.
  • InterLibrary Loan - If the Rock Falls Library does not have a particular item, the library can request items from other libraries in the state of Illinois.
  • Replacement cost for lost library cards is $1.00.
  • When a patron has accumulated $1.00 in fines or has items overdue, all library privileges will be suspended for him/herself and all members of the household. This includes use of the library computers.
  • Your library card may be used at other Illinois public libraries, such as Sterling and Dixon, who have agreed that we will honor each other's patrons' cards.

Computer Use

 

  • A valid library card is required to use the public computers.  A library card number and PIN will be needed to log in to the public computers.
  • Coloma Township residents are now required to have a library card to access the computers.  Library cards are FREE for Coloma Township residents.  
  • Patrons who are out of district are allowed one 30-minute guest pass per day. Guests must present a valid form of ID for use of a guest pass.
  • All computers are shut off 15 minutes prior to  closing.
  • Students in grades 8 and below must use the computers in the children's area.
  • High school students must use the computers in the adult area. 
  • The option of printing is available at any computer. Print-outs cost 15 cents per page for black and white and 25 cents per page for color. Patrons will need to pay before the pages are released to print.

Library Donations

 

The library accepts donated books on a regular basis.

The library is unable to accept donations of Reader's Digest condensed books,

textbooks, encyclopedias, magazines over 1 year old, VHS/cassette tapes, or 

books with mold/mildew or damage.
